The clinics and group lessons that I offer are for all skill levels. Eventhough I have started some beginners in the Saturday large group clinic, it is more difficult for the new golfer since I get very little time with each participant. The other clinics are better as the size of the group is smaller and each person gets more individual attention.

My kids Casey and Wade started when they were old enough to walk and hold a club. I taught them early on how to hold the club, and stand (put their feet in the correct place). I just let them swing and try to hit the ball. I had them on the putting green learning to make the ball go in the hole. They also earned a lot by watching other golfers.

No such thing as a dumb question with golf, as there are many things with golf that seem to not be logical. A 3 putt is when you are on the green ( a part of a golf hole) you are using your putter ( your flat edged club) and you make 3 strokes to get the ball in the hole. If you take two strokes it is a 2 putt or 1 stroke is a 1 putt. If you take more than 3 strokes you are wasting more strokes than you should.

Yes, your grip is your hold on the golf club. Many people have the same issue with holding on too tightly. You would want to try to grasp the club as if you had an open tube of toothpaste. Be careful to not gush any toothpaste out of the tube. Too tight of a grip will also not allow you to keep the tension out of your arms and shoulders which will definately make it harder to swing freely.
