No such thing as a dumb question with golf, as there are many things with golf that seem to not be logical. A 3 putt is when you are on the green ( a part of a golf hole) you are using your putter ( your flat edged club) and you make 3 strokes to get the ball in the hole. If you take two strokes it is a 2 putt or 1 stroke is a 1 putt. If you take more than 3 strokes you are wasting more strokes than you should.
I see, that makes sense - if my long game never changed but I were able to average 2 putt, it would vastly improve my game. Thanks!

Ok, dumb question....what's a 3 putt?
